Thanks for doing the poll Dean.

I know you are too polite to raise this point, but I was surprised and very disappointed that so few people voted.

Before anybody tells me to wind my neck in, that's not meant to be a criticism of any individual.

Maybe some of them suffered the reservations I voiced earlier, re my feeling disloyal to the panellist whom I was not voting for, who knows?

Additionally, we all know that lurkers do just that and I support their wish not to contribute to a discussion, but it would be nice to have them participate in a poll where the individual's vote is anonymous.

What adds to the frustration is that it's pointless asking lurkers why they didn't vote! Disappointed smile

I was going to vote, but for one reason or another didn't. I will in the next poll. FWIW my favourite JAM player of all time would be Linda Smith.

I hear you, Steve!

I've been puzzled by this too, and has thought of another excuse (perhaps?) for not voting:
Maybe very few of the list members actually receive the messages in their email? It took me a *long* time before I discovered that the Yahoo group was not just a web based group, but that the messages could be received as e-mails too.

Actually I had to read between the lines in a post where apparently the poster received the messages as e-mails for me to understand that this was possible. Up until then I imagined a "Yahoo group" were a web forum, so I thought I had to log on the Yahoo site and browse the messages there for me to read them. Needless to say I was not very active back then, cause the Yahoo page is one cluttered, messed up site.

Could it be this simple? That only a very few of the Yahoo members are actually active members, cause the rest registered and then left without knowing that they could receive the posts as email?

If anyone wants to change the way they read posts here, go to the website and hit the "edit membership" link which is just under the banner. There you can choose between

* having every email individiually sent to you
* a daily digest - this is where you get all the emails collected together once a day and sent to you
* just reading the posts on the website
