Just returning this thread to the subject and not deviating from the subject........

Where can you find 5 minor JAMmers in one place.

Here......

You only get the fifth point, a bonus point, if you can find the fifth celebrity.

Or Espen can nab the question for the JAM exam. It would be good to have some visuals. But you can only have it, if you can answer it.

Dave

P.S. There is more of interest in the right hand list on youtube...Barry, Tim, ISIHAC and for nostalgia check out the Betamax years for a belly laugh.

Oh yes, a bit of reminiscing!

The first time I encountered Paul Merton (knowingly) was on Steve Wright in the Afternoon on Radio 1, back when "Paul Merton: The Series" was just starting, and he was doing the interview circuit to promote it. I had seen him on TV before, but didn't know his name until then.

Classic foursome: As with Dave B, I used to read "Grimble", so that's where Clement Freud came in. And Kenneth Williams was always in the background with Carry On, Willo the Wisp, etc. Peter Jones was the voice of The Book. I can't remember where I first saw Derek Nimmo, but I have a strong memory of his guest appearance in Neighbours (when Madge and Harold visited England, he played an eccentric lord).

As for Nicholas Parsons, I first saw him in a stage show in Chichester, which I can't remember much about except that I believe he played God. I was very young and it was a Sunday School trip. I don't think I had any knowledge of anything else he'd done at that point, except that he must be famous because his name was big in the programme.

Kit Hesketh-Harvey was also someone I was aware of before I got into JAM. I saw his double-act, Kit and the Widow, several times. (Website: http://www.kitandthewidow.com )
