And from the Guardian site:

BBC Radio 4 panel game Just A Minute is to transfer to BBC2 next year to mark the show's 45th anniversary. "After 45 years of chairing Just a Minute on radio, I am excited to be hosting these special celebratory episodes for BBC2," the programme's host, Nicholas Parsons, told the Daily Mail. Just a minute, Nicholas … hasn't it been on television before? It has indeed, with an ill-fated ITV version that lasted just two series in the mid-1990s. Despite boasting Parsons in the presenter's chair and many of the show's regulars, it almost entirely failed to capture the spirit of the radio original. Possibly because seeing the panellists adds nothing to a show that is entirely aural. In fact, the visuals positively detracted from the experience. Still, it was made by Carlton, the old ITV licensee for London, which didn't exactly have a track record in quality television. Good luck with next year's transfer to BBC2. The next topic is … the tricky business of making a radio programme work on television. And your minute starts … now!

Obviously the dreaded and awful tv series from the 90's comes to mind. However for that a lot of the panelists had never played the game before and only Graham Norton emerged to be a regular.
Hopefully with it being a bbc production regulars such as Paul, Tony, Sheila, Graham and a host of others will appear. Maybe we'll get a few others such as Stephen Fry, especially with it being the 45th anniversary.
I liked the special for sports relief earlier this year.

I never was able to watch the faces of people struggling with sentences on JAM on TV in the 1990s. I did not feel comfortable and it didn't feel like Just A Minute. From what I can recall the participants weren't often JAM quality.

I would hope that it can be a quick fire game as on Radio without all the hanging it out that went on on the TV show. I know Nic occasionally says if only this was on TV one could see the picture that was someone face, or see the arm movements someone was making, but making a spectacle of it for me would be too uncomfortable. I hope whatever they produce will be a hybrid - capable of being aired equally well on both TV and Radio (and indeed broadcast on both in the same week). If it isn't, it won't be available freely beyond the UK on iplayer.

Oh the clips I saw of the charity TV special this year did not feel at all like JAM... just messing about for charity using the JAM format.

Oh course Nic is so old he was doing Just A Minute before they invented Radio or TV. In those days they just used to open the studio windows and SHOUT!!
