Stephen Fry just tweeted: On way to BBC for Just A Minute - 2 TV eps in honour of its 45 anniversary. With Paul Merton Julian Clarey, Shappi Khorsandi & Russell Tovey.

Weirdly, I had expected Russell to make an appearance in the wake of his doing QI and Call My Bluff for 24 Panel People. My money would be on Shappi only doing one of the recordings and swapping out with Russell.

Dean, The three pairs of seats appear to be set so far apart they will really have to shout and have keen hearing to pick up what is being said. Nicholas will do Ok though as he was doing recordings since before they had radio broadcasts - they just had to open the windows in the studio and shout (according to Paul).

I thought that too at first. But have a look again – the tables where they are sitting are actually all together, it’s just parts of the background set that are far apart.

They seem to be doing well in getting all the regulars and long-standing players involved. Tim Rice, Sheila, Kit, Jenny and Ross seem to be the remaining 'biggies' left who have yet to appear, as well as perhaps Josie and Marcus as more recent players with fairly regular appearances. Two recordings left means 4 programmes and if Paul is going to be in all of them (which seems likely) that leaves 12 'spots' to be filled. I think Kit, Sheila and Jenny would be the most hard-done-by if they didn't appear and it would be a shame to leave Josie out given how quickly she is becoming a strong regular. I dearly hope Sheila appears - she's always fun, clearly loves the game and is the longest-standing panellist since Clement died. Ross's Twitter suggests he is filming in Ireland so possibly he won't appear. I'm also guessing each recording is going to involve a swap of at least one player between shows and there's a tendency to have a newbie (or relative newbie in Miles Jupp's case) involved in one. I'd like to think maybe Clive Anderson will get a shot given his appearance in the BBC Radio 4 Extra ads - he's usually good value on panel shows and would be a strong contributor I'm sure.
And speaking of the Radio 4 Extra Adverts, the set of those (the Radio Theatre in Broadcasting house...?) bears some similarities to the tv set you showed us Dean!

Josie Lawrence replied to a tweet from me to say she would be appearing - I think on the Tuesday recording as she is down to do the Comedy Store on Sunday night.

I think someone said Ross Noble was doing some shows too.

Of the others I would think Jenny Eclair would be more likely than Sheila Hancock. I'd expect Marcus Brigstocke to get a look-in too. I imagine they'd love to have Graham Norton and Stephen Fry do two more shows each too.

The interesting thing about the teams so far is that it's pretty much all experienced players. Russell Tovey is the one complete newbie, and as you say Miles Jupp has done just two shows. This is a very good sign.

If JAM can't succeed on TV with panels of this calibre, we can say for certain it will never work on TV.

If you look at Dean's picture again you will see that the tables and blue background screens are in two concentric arcs.
This means that if a camera is positioned at the arc centres and points at a contestant the blue screens will be directly behind the contestant as happens in the Radio 4 Extra advert.

Oh yeh, I see now. Had a headache when I first looked.

I hope those folk who go to see these live are JAM fans, as one would be (probably) if one were to do a recording. Not sure its true but I recon that TV recordings may attract demand for tickets from a wider audience.

So I not only want a panel I love, but an audience of like minds too.

That's an audience that will appreciate the chaos that is JAM, the long established in jokes, and it would be great if they can still send up Dolly Clacket, the old parbuckle, pig inseminator or whatever guise they may force upon a willing Nicholas.
