Topic: Last TV recording panel

Someone who was at the shows tells me that the second recording saw Paul and Jason Manford stay and they were joined by Shappi and "some bloke from Downton Abbey". This would be Hugh Bonneville. So a couple of newbies, good to see Josie get at least one show but I'm a bit sad Sheila or Jenny didn't get asked to do one.

Having seen the line-ups Dean, I'm curious as to your insight. Of course, the proof of the pudding will be in the broadcast, but do you know how much involvement the radio team might have had in the TV productions? Who was doing the casting for it? I think the new guests all seem to be excellent choices but is there an argument for giving regulars and long-serving panellists like Kit, Sheila, Jenny etc. their chance? This in turn could only be to the benefit of the show as a potential longer-term TV series. Or is it just the nature of the game, where TV faces get their chances which may lead to weaker players (John Sergeant, Shappi) getting a game ahead of others? It was always going to be hard to give EVERYONE a chance and I'm sure the shows will be great, I'd just like to know your thoughts.

Hi folks,

Without wishing to prejudice what Dean will say, I would just caution that there's a difference between who took part in the TV recordings and who was invited to do so. For all I know, Kit, Sheila, Jenny et al may have been invited but declined. Of course they may also have not been invited, as Barry implies.

Cheers

kJ
