I emailed the ABC commending them for the JAM support they give, and to encourage them to continue beyond Jan 2012.

They replied:

Thanks for your email, but we have a limited number of episodes of JAM and when we finish a
run we like to put on something else for a while before going back to the first episode in
our collection. However I will pass this onto the appropriate person to let them know of
your appreciation and support.

I think what ABC sent you is just a standard fob-off reply, which they probably send to everyone who contacts them about _any_ BBC show they broadcast.

After all, I've been listening to Radio National regularly since at least 2001/02, and I've never heard any of these early shows before. ABC were already well past the current point - season 4 - when I first tuned in to their 5am broadcasts, ten years or more ago. So their reply doesn't make sense.

ABC has a HUGE quantity of 'Just A Minute' episodes - more, I believe, than is held by BBC Sound Archives !

What you were told might be true for ABC's holdings of other BBC shows, such as 'My Word' or 'The Goon Show'. But it is clearly not true in the case of 'Just A Minute'.
