This same "Paul" has been posting to a lot of lists recently.

No one can "hack" into any account unless the owner leaves it open for others to get in. Some people really should not be allowed to have email accounts until they can pass the exam.

What an unfounded load of bilge.  I suppose I could spend my time explaining how and why this is wrong, but in the interests of brevity, there's more than one way to skin a cat, and this is no exception.

Furthermore, that's no way to speak to someone that's been so generous to this community. I'll happily give him benefit of doubt.

In conclusion, access to the Internet is not a license to be condescending and rude.

One simple thing you can do is make your password is not easy to 'guess' with a dictionary of words or words with letters replaced with numbers.
There are other ways and means to hack an account but the script-kiddies will just download a dictionary and a pre-written hack script and off they go so you will be closing a door to at least some of the muppets.

Take care out there, it's a dangerous place...

I would have agreed with you if I had not had one of my e-mail accounts hacked and it was eventually closed by hotmail. I felt awful that people had received spam through me and there was nothing really that I could do about it. It has also happened to me from co-workers. There accounts were hacked and I started getting strange e-mails.

I don't know how it happens but it does. I don't know Paul but he seems a nice, generous guy. I certainly don't think it is something that anyone would do intentionally and he probably feels a little embarrassed even though he has done nothing wrong (that is how I felt anyway).

Love, David
