The Kenneth Williams Years

With only 1 of the 5 complete shows in Without Hesitation being from 1967 - 1988 with Kenneth Williams (tho there were many clips from shows including highlights from the show with Bob Monkhouse (Series 14 Episode 13 (#286))) are the Merton Years better or simply better suited to todays audiences?
Even if an episode is aired from the archive its usually from the 90's onwards.
