well I had a crush on her 20 or so years ago when I saw on Whose Line Is It Anyway... and still do!

Dean, you've surprised me.  I hadn't realised that Kiwi men could be so smooth!
 
Good blog, although I was more impressed with Ruth Jones than you were.

I was also concerned that Nick may have been tempted to overplay his part, but as you suggest, either he has kept himself in check, or the editorial team have done a good job. 

So far, so good. I enjoyed the first week and am even softening my feelings toward Sue Perkins, especially when she gives us one of her genuine smiles.

One thing that did grate for me was John Sargent's strategy in the fifth programme.  I found it too jokey and I felt he tried to play (and appeal) to the audience too much.
