I must admit that while Gyles B has always rubbed me up the wrong way - like Nazi fingernails on a Justin Bieber blackboard - the way he adopted Miles in this episode was really, truly showmanship of the Old School.

While the new boy - wassisname - Paul Merton? - is renowned for his impro, Gyles showed he could snatch a passing ripple and ride it into a resounding wave.

I might have underestimated him.

Which is a shame, because I really like being annoyed by him.

My thoughts exactly (with the slight deviation that I don't like being annoyed by Gyles, I just don'like him, period). Before the show went out I would have bet anything that he'd try to work his equine-quadruped-routine in, no matter how awkwardly, and his beloved joke about dogs having to be carried on the escalators and how it took him 40 mins to find one, but he refrained, thank God. All in all he was quite tolerable on this show. I acutally liked the bit about adopting Miles, too. Just goes to show he can be really sweet if he puts his mind to it.
Next major stop for me - Tony Hawks. I love his contributions.
