It came to me after a couple of holiday Chardonnays that an abbreviation of

HEsitation
Repetition
Or
Deviation

spells out ... Herod!

And since Nicholas was born around that time, I don't think it could be pure coincidence... for if you take the name of "Nicholas Parsons", and shift the letters about you get chilling anagrams:

"Canal, His Sponsor" - is he seducing French TV producers to take JAM to the continent?
"Carnal His Spoons" - unspeakable cutlery acts.
"Anal Chis Sponsor" - upon which I refuse to conjecture.

Then add a few letters, remove a few, and then jumble them up, you get "Nic is the father of King Herod."

I bet that if you took Dean's entire transcripts of all JAM episodes, extracted all the letters, and re-arranged them - you would find a pretty devastating hidden message. I feel the goosebumps already.

Now if you will excuse me, I must email Tom Hanks about a sequel...
