Cause of the multiple 'Romulus and Remuses'

I should perhaps point out that most professional radio stations do not retain archive format LPs, cassettes, or open reels after the programme content has been transfered to digital storage. It would be surprising if any of the vinyl LP's remain in ABC's vaults.

As they admit it was "many years ago" that the LPs were copied, perhaps ABC should consider doing fresh transfers using the latest technology. The job could be outsourced if necessary. A good sound engineer would be able to clean the recordings at the same time and provide them with new broadcast masters for future generations to enjoy.
