He's written a column (sadly it doesn't seem to be online) suggesting
that Americans have gone a bit over-the-top about British accents.

No, no, no, don't let the press distort his words any more than what
they originally were!

All he says is, "Americans think British accents are amazing whether
the performance is good or bad (even though it usually is good).
Americans are rather more relaxed in their acting, because it works
for them."

Instead, all newspapers on the face of this earth are reporting, "Fry
says: British actors can't act; Americans can't judge!" CRIMONY.

Ahh, I thank you.  I spent a good few minutes on Google looking for the original article.

At that resolution the word "Bones" looks like "Boner".  Tee hee.

Ugh, I tried to reply to this on the wrong account . . .

Anyway, Nathan probably got an email from my alter ego concerning
LiveJournal. Publically, I wanted to note that the article is from TV
guide.

For posterity, this is what Sarah sent to me:

"Hah! Well, I didn't scan it. LiveJournal provides for all! I
downloaded that article when it first came out more than a month ago,
and then just recently the media started talking about it as if
Stephen had specifically written something to disparage all actors. I
read the quotes and thought, "Just a minute (hee) -- I read that, and
he didn't say that at all!"

The article is from TV Guide, by the way."
