I think it might be someone out of left field.
Never listen to it but wasnt Jack Dee a bit of a surprise when he took over hosting Im Sorry I Havent A Clue?

Cant see Stephen Fry doing, he has so many projects on the go wouldnt have the time to record 3 series a year.

Surely the makers of the show have a few people in mind, may also ask Nicolas who he would suggest since he's been there since the start and would have a good idea who had the neccessary skills to do it well.
