RIP Victor Spinetti

It's a sad day for Just a Minute, Beatles and SuperTed fans - Victor Spinetti, who appeared in the Beatles films "A Hard Day's Night", "Help" and "Magical Mystery Tour", and of course on JAM in 2004 and 2005, has died of cancer at the age of 82.

I thought Victor's appearances on the show were very memorable and even went the whole minute at his first recording in Swansea while talking on the subject of hwyl. In his second recording in Mold (both his recordings were in Wales) he developed a rapport with Clement Freud. He had a sort of baffled sound to his voice, like a Welsh Peter Jones, which fitted in well with the show. I'm sure he could have appeared more if he wanted to.

One for us 80s kids here - he was also the voice of the baddie Texas Pete in the English language version of the S4C cartoon series SuperTed.
