Have you seen him in Annually Retentive - the mockumentary  with game show? That was supposedly a persona, but he is 'playing' the same person in would i lie.

I agree re the impressions - he seems to have 4 - pacino, cain, corbett, hmm can't think of another. One good thing (from annually & this) is that he is constantly chided for his impressions & lack of versatility

He did seem to want to be the highlight of the show rather than
being a host and bringing out the best of the contestants'
talents... and his impersonations do start to wear a bit thin
