According to an interview I just heard on R4 just now it will mean a fuller experience for the on-line listener experience. In particular live radio for all BBC channels, you can get that now but not all in one place, currently you have to go the website for each channel and select 'Listen live'. there will also be a dedicated app for smart phones etc.

It is seen that the radio section of the current iPlayer is the poor relation.

There seems to increased interest in making Archive material available and even tracking down lost episodes, see link in an earlier posting. Good for us.
