I don't think it's ALL about smartphones and tablets, rather it's a complete new website and iPlayer that has an app associated with them.

If you go to the website, there is a whole host of info for each station/programme even videos.

Yupp, there are still 'LISTEN LIVE' buttons on the individual station web pages.

This is all about making BBC Radio more accessible to users with smartphones and tablets. I installed the app on my iPad to test it out. It has an alarm function to wake up your device before your favourite shows start and it has the same "listen again" functionality as iPlayer.

I'm sure the BBC will continue to share their radio streams online through their website so it's nothing to worry about...
