Hi folks,

This is considerably off topic so I'll be brief. The UK TV licence is legislated for by Section 4 of the 2003 Communications Act, specifically sections 363 to 368. It gives the Secretary of State the power to define what is or isn't a television receiver and therefore the power to decide what does and doesn't need a licence. What the current definition is, I don't know (or care).
