One of my main hobbies (apart from JAM) is collating everything there is to know about Norma Sykes, the busty Stockport girl who became Sabrina in the 50s and early 60s (sabrina.nylon.net.)  I have found many newspaper articles from the Daily Mirror and Daily Express via www.ukpressonline.co.uk, American Sabrinanews in the Newspaper Archive (U.S.), Australian news from Google News and The National Library of Australia's Trove - all great and cheap ways of getting historical news - but I've found precious little from The Times... I think Sabrina was rather too common for their esteemed columns.

So I was wondering if you fine British chaps have free access to historical Times, and had a few minutes free, I wonder if you would be so kind as to do a search for Norma Sykes aka Sabrina, principally from 1955 to 1964?

I know this is a bit of a cheek to abuse Dean's wonderful group for my selfish pursuits, but I've already nagged him into ransacking New Zealand's media for information and so I guess if I'm in for a penny I might as well go in for a quid.

And while I'm here, if anyone happens to pass through South America or South Africa in the near future, I'd love to hear of Sabrina news from those places too!

Thanks, and now we can return to our regular programming...

Mark

Simon - Thanks for the tip about accessing The Times back issues via library card number. Just tried it and it works for me. I didn't know about it and it's something I will find very useful.
