Hi folks. The Cup ponies are getting ready to LEAP into the lead today here in Melbourne, and so is Kenneth Williams.

You won't believe the convoluted shenanigans it took to get this recording after 2 computers at home didn't record... it took 2 leaps by Remote Desktop connection and then a hop using VNC to access my desktop at work, grab the recording there and then FTP it back to myself.

The following link is hand-crafted HTML since my webmail's rich text editor does not work with Chrome, to which I've just migrated from Firefox - so if the link does not work, blame me :-(

http://nylon.net/up/JAM-1971-10-12@090(S06E01)=Doing_My_Own_Thing-v2.mp3

De-clicked for your extra aural smoothness, using Adobe Audition.

Mark

Blimey!
Chrome and my webmail made a right mess of those links.
The clickable link ended at the ...@090 part of both strings and so they fail.

So for anyone else suffering the same and not spotting what to copy and paste into their browser try the following:

http://nylon.net/up/JAM-1971-10-12@090(S06E01)=Doing_My_Own_Thing-v2.mp3

Right-clicking and selecting 'Save link as...' works for me in Chrome.

Alternatively copy-and-paste the above line into the address field of the browser and then 'Save page as...' from the file menu or whatever words your browser uses.

Thanks Mark - great work and another nice one for us to enjoy.

Dammit - happened again.
All is OK in the editor when writing the email, but when reading the received email the links fail.
Looks like my Chrome webmail reader doesn't like the ( character in the links.

Sorry.

Hi Mark
For me the breaks in the links have almost always been there.
Which is why I was so pleased when you posted your address for your upgrades.

Every time you now post something new (so very much appreciated by us all)
I go to the above and no problem
Marvellous!

Thats what im now doing as cant get the links to download otherwise. Didnt see the need to ask for a repost after nylon posted the link to the directory.

Loving the upgrades by the way. Listening to them on my ipod when out and about. Thank you for them.

Glad it's working for you, Martin.

It must be a Chrome thing because Firefox always did the links properly for me. I'll change the parentheses to square brackets for the next upload and we'll see how that goes.

Nope, I'm reading my Yahoo mail in FF at work - the links 'end' before the 1st parenthesis.
Used to work OK, weird.

Glad it's working for you, Martin.

It must be a Chrome thing because Firefox always did the links properly for me. I'll change the parentheses to square brackets for the next upload and we'll see how that goes.

No, actually Mark, I've always been using Firefox and the links have never worked. The parenthesis are not allowed in any links -- at least, not in North America. It is just best if you don't put even square brackets in at all. I know that some servers still will not allow spaces, or apostrophes in a file name! The alternative is to use a hyperlink or an imbedded link.... that always works for me, especially with long links.

The best, of course, is to direct us to your directory, and we can find the file there.

It's also a Thunderbird thing :)

But there is another simple solution to the problem: Just copy the entire address into your browser address field and open it in your browser, then right click and choose "save as" in your browser (eventually go to file -> save as). That will copy the mp3 file to your desired location.
