Happy New Year C

As far as I'm aware the 'longest lasting' file sharing site is MediaFire, especially if you upload the files as zip archives. Zip files are not checked for copyright violation either.

Of course, things may well have changed since we* came to those conclusions some time ago.

The other alternative is to pay for the service; if you pay for file hosting the files /never/ expire. They may still get checked for copyright violation on some sites.

There are other options such as Microsoft SkyDrive, Google Picasa Web, Apple The Cloud etc but if you don't have an account yourself you can usually only view or listen to files deposited as opposed to downloading them to your PC.

* Can't remember if 'we' is this Yahoo group or one of the others I'm in.

Subject: [just-a-minute] Using Dropbox as a share resource + Old News Quiz Episodes please!(Don possibly)

Hi All,
Happy New Year All!

A few years ago I uploaded all my available clue episodes up to mediashare only to see them disappear after time. Since then I have my whole collection of JAM and Clue on Dropbox. I don't have much knowledge of these sort of things - but is there any reason why Dropbox can't be used to share links? It seems that it would be there for longer than my old Mediashare effort lasted? I note that it is not used by any experienced sharers - just interested why not?!

Also as a follow up to the previous comment and what prompted me really  - I note that Don's News Quiz archive is now dead in the Links section. Does anyone or perhaps has Don a new location for the archive? Thanks again!
