I was just browsing Dean's site and noticed that Paul Merton is approaching a milestone in terms of total appearances.

JUST A MINUTE APPEARANCES: COMBINED RADIO AND TELEVISION
854: Nicholas Parsons (1967-)
548: Clement Freud (1967-2009)
346: Kenneth Williams (1968-88)
332: Peter Jones (1971-2000)
311: Derek Nimmo (1967-99)
300: Paul Merton (1989-)

Even if there's no TV season, that gives him a very high likelihood of passing Derek Nimmo this year.  In 2012, he had 18 total radio appearances.  At that pace (18 shows a year), he'd pass Peter Jones in 2014 and Kenneth Williams in 2015, lagging behind only the great Clement Freud and Nicholas in terms of total shows.

WOW, I did not think he had done nearly this many shows, So he has now moved into the same arenas as the greats. I listen to about 4 or 5 shows a day and they still make me laugh after repeats.  Last night the Elaine Stritch had me laughing my socks off again.  She is a formidable woman, then the show with Ray Allen when he threw his voice and Kenneth thought they had drunks in the audience.  Then Peter going on about why Nic was being paid more than him....just so funny.  As someone new to JAM really, I do enjoy the older players more than some of the new ones.

Almost every show has at least one golden moment I think
