Topic: Series 4 (Part 1 ) Download Link Dead?

Message 1 / 7

Hi everyone,

With the improved quality of the early episodes thanks to the brilliant captures made by the group of the ABC repeats, combined with the fact I've exhausted all the commercially available releases, I've decided to go and listen to all the existing JAM episodes from the very beginning.

So in order to do so, I'm putting together an MP3 disc of as many of the early episodes as I can fit onto it and I reckon I'm looking at partway into series 4 for disc 1. I'm therefore trying to gather up as many of the non-repeated episodes as I can. I'm fine up to series 3, but after Episode #038 in Series 4 there is a massive gap to when the ABC episodes recommence (#047). When I try to access the Series 4 (Part 1) link in the Links section, it says the file is no longer available.

Is anyone able to renew the link or provide a new one?

Thanks for any help!
Ed

Wait, that is, if you mean upgraded copies of Season 4.  If there aren't upgraded copies then I'd be happy to help out with the original copies, which I have.

Hi James,

I'm looking for the best quality I can find, but I figured the "originals" were the only copies available. If there are upgrades I'd infinitely prefer those, but if the only versions available are the 32kbps copies, well, beggars can't be choosers :)

Kindly provided by HarrySpeakup and passed along for anyone else who wants them. Have to admit I thought I'd done a good job of keeping on top of the ABC recordings, but this includes 8 I'd completely missed.

Either way, BIG thanks for the these copies:

Guys,

JAM episodes 38->46 from ABC, (only 44 still in lower quality):

+++ http://www.sendspace.com/file/sbdcpu

No recordings are mine, all due thanks to the hard work of others (Mark@... and Charlie@OTRPlus I think, apologies to anyone else if incorrect)

Cheers,
HarrySpeakup

Here is a link to the better quality ep 44 from Mark and my old low quality version.

http://www.mediafire.com/?ncond254rx03x

Interestingly I checked the low quality ep 44 that I had and it was virtually the same file as the low quality provided by HarrySpeakup - same size to within 1kB (usually means the same file), same 32kb/s second bit-rate but my version sounded so much better - on the system I use anyway.

The waveforms displayed in mp3DirectCut for each low quality file are similar but not exactly the same - explains the difference in quality.

Just goes to show you can't verify the version you have just on file attributes, your ears are the final, best judge.

Brilliant - thanks for the extra share Don.

I don't suppose there are upgrades to 24, 27, 32 & 35 knocking about as well? These are the only super-low bitrate ones (under 64kbps) I have from the early run now. Be nice to replace those as well if possible.

Cheers,
Ed.
