ABC schedule change

Hi

Just out of interest, how many of you who are going to complain listened to JAM on the ABC? The service isn't designed as a source for better recordings for fans, but as a service to listeners (primarily in Australia, but also now through the net). I know my partner who often uses radio national to help her through insomnia dreads waking at near to 5 as the comedies don't interest her. My sister, however, wakes up to listen to them.

And maybe some people are getting tires of all the old JAMs: the 'fab' four were excellent but each of their styles can be grating (I never really warmed to Derek Nimmo), as can the old-school light-hearted sexism. People here would never know that JAM is still being made.

And perhaps the ABC has finally reached the limit of the infinite-repeat licence it must have. Although they will persist with the Goons - this must be on a 2-3 year repeat cycle.

Jeremy
