Peter was without a doubt a great chap, and I think his gentlemanly ways obviously showcased that he was quite popular with the members of the female gender who appeared on the show.

I believe during that self same 1980's episode on the subject of 'Peter Jones' Aimi MacDonald goes on to say that Peter was always there to support her whenever she was on the show even though Clement did technically have a correct challenge in point of fact that Peter wasn't always on the show, even when Aimi was around because Aimi made plenty of early appearances on the program long before Peter became a regular.  hell even Kenneth seemed to forget this and actually supported Aimi's comment, which was a very rare thing, especially given light of recent revelations that Kenneth thought of Aimi as a 'stupid bitch'.

something else that I always loved about Peter was how would occasionally showcase his particular disdain over the fact that other panelists tend to get subjects dealing with people of historical or literary significance but he ends up getting subjects that seem so plain and ordinary like 'Fudge', 'Potpurri', 'Bananas', etc.

something else that seemed to always be a given when it came to Peter Jones was that he always tended to have a self-deprecatory view of himself, he never took himself seriously, which seemed to be both unique as part of his sty le and personality, but other times I felt that it just opened up too many opportunities for Nicholas to behave so unscrupulously condescending towards him, something which never really sat well with me at all.

I like a lot of Peter's challenges:

Tony Hawks: I am six-feet-four inches tall already ...
BUZZ
PJ: Boasting.

Steve Frost: And the French are the finest waiters in the world ...
BUZZ
PJ: They'd have to be to get the cheese from the one place and the
soup from the Derdoynne.

Or when the topic was "My First Night":

Well, it was an altogether traumatic experience altogether. I remember
I was covered in some sort of ... sticky substance. And I didn't
recognize my mother ... After all, I was hanging upside down, and the
doctor was very elderly and kept shaking ...

He also must have had some sort of charm and sex appeal to all but
make a date with Lorraine Chase in the middle of a subject.

Anyway, he was clearly popular with everyone on the show. On the 1980
show with Aimi MacDonald where all the panelists were subjects,
Clement said, "Peter Jones is really one of the best chaps I have ever
met," and you sense he actually meant it. (His brief blurb on Peter in
"Freud Ego" shows the same enthusiasm.)

About the time of Peter's death, Wendy Richard shared a story on the
BBC about how in the green room before a taping, Nicholas and Derek
were going on about quality pocket hankies, Peter excused himself and
came back with a pocket hanky of his own. "Do you like my pocket
handkerchef? " he asked her. "Yes, it's nice. Where did you get it?"
"It's toilet paper."

Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell?
