Topic: JAM And Scoring...

Hi!

Apologies if this has been discussed before but I am new to the group
and there are rather a lot of previous posts to read through. :-)))

Has anyone actually followed the scoring in JAM and does it usually
accurately match what Nicholas says? I had never really thought about
this and just accepted the scores. Until last evening...

I was listening to the series 52 episode from Edinburgh that begins with
the 'Kangaroo' round and at the end of that opening round Nicholas says
Paul Merton is in 2nd place despite at that point Paul not having even
spoken???

Confused.

welcome to the group.

The shows are always highly edited, whole rounds are taken out as
happened with the show you refer to.

I always score as I transcribe and I think I've yet to find a show where
the scoring was equivalent to that announced by Nicholas.

It's interesting that it seems most people don't notice - I often get
told I can tell if my shows are edited by checking the scoring - but
that would be no help at all.

the shows I saw recorded actually went for about 40 minutes, so that's
almost two thirds taken out to edit down to the usual 28.
