Out of interest Dean, where did you get the information from for your site? Is it mostly from fan recordings, or somewhere else?

Dean - Thanks. You have a phenomenal memory! But I'm beginning to wish I hadn't asked.

From a quick search it seems there are only two epiosdes with both Aimi and Patrick - #205 and #217. My copies of both are TS versions broadcast by ABC in 2006. I've just downloaded a different (lower bitrate but longer running) version (I assume the UK broadcast - runs 27m08s) of #217 and started to compare with my TS #217 (runs 24m53s).

They both start with "How To Stop Snoring", but (a) the UK version is missing Nicholas' introduction although this is in the TS version, (b) the first round is edited differently (maybe others are as well), (c) the UK version has a round "Mars" [after "Ibsen"] which is not in the TS version, (d) the TS version has a round "Geneva" [before "Ibsen"] which is not in the UK version.

The transcript on your site is not "merged" like those of the other two episodes we've come across; it is the pure UK version (ie. it includes "Mars" but does not include "Geneva"). Moreover, "Geneva" does not appear in your listing of subjects. Which makes me wonder whether this episode is indeed the one you were thinking of?

However, I suspect that this UK version is itself incomplete in that it does not have Nicholas's introduction. In fact the mp3 sounds to me like the opening music + continuity announcer have been spliced on from a different episode. If so, it would have to have been spliced on from #205 if that is indeed the only other episode with Aimi and Patrick.

So James has another complex splicing job to do if he fancies it. Meanwhile, I'm left wondering just how incomplete my own collection is - pretty much the whole of the first 10 series are from ABC broadcasts. Woe is me if I have discarded inferior quality UK broadcast encodes with the same opening rounds without realising they included round(s) not in the TS versions.

Charlie

I have a feeling one of the Clement-Peter-Aimi-Patrick shows from 75-6 was similar.
