Topic: Download treats from Dean (with a little help from Martin)

I have started to upload to Mediafire Dean's unique contribution to
the group, the 'extra rare' Just A Minute Episodes that no-one else
has had in their collection. You can access them in the 'links' area
of the group website under:

Links >
"Just a Minute" Episode Download Links >
Dean's Extra Special Just A Minute Episodes

Only two episodes are available in the folder at this instant in
time, but I'll add other links as I finish post-processing and
uploading the files so keep looking for new additions. The first two
episodes are:

Just A Minute - 1970.12.15 s05e15 #078 - Enjoying life (KW, DN, CF,
Joan Turner)[DB].mp3 (12.34 MB)
Just A Minute - 1972.02.01 s06e17 #106 - Quince (KW, CF, PJ, SH)
(poor quality) [DB].mp3 (11.58 MB)

The quality of the Dean's recordings is generally very good but does
vary depending on the source of the original tape from and I'll be
leaving:

JAM 360 Doppelganger

until the very last as it has multiple problems that will require a
lot of time to correct.

I'd like to publicly thank Dean on behalf of the group for
entrusting to me not just copies but his original tapes to digitise.

So enjoy Dean's unique contribution to the group - the epsiodes of
Just A Minute that no-one else has heard... until now.

Joan Turner?  I think I've heard that one, didn't really care for it, only because the woman in question didn't say anything, literally for the whole show.  wasn't exactly one I'd particular wish to remember actually.

you're wrong. The show isn't exactly memorable but Joan Turner couldn't
be described as saying nothing.

I appreciate the good wishes and thanks - but observe it was Martin who
gave up most of his holiday to work on this project and deserves the
bulk of our appreciations.

Well done Martin! Who says Australians and New Zealanders can't work
together? :-)

Bravo! Many many grovelling thanks to both Martin and Dean for sharing
these gems with us! I know I have been waiting with bated breath :)
And I think I speak for all of us when I say how much we appreciate
the time and effort taken to digitize Dean's collection!

well, she laughed when began her subject and then started to sing a scale, then laughed and didn't continue.  that seemed to be the extent of Ms. Turner's contribution to that episode.

Perhaps you could have checked the transcript. If you had you'd seen she
did the full 60 seconds on one subject - and that in her first show -
and contributed a lot of banter on the show. Actually after a quiet
first 10 minutes or so she said more than the rest in the last 10
minutes.

It does seem a shame you're using this thread to complain about a
one-off guest rather than say something nice about Martin's work.

hmmm, must've been a different guest I was thinking of then.  if that is the case, I apologize.  I was merely going on what I remembered, and I'm pretty open to admit that perhaps I remembered wrongly.

if so I will give the episode another listen and I will in fact check the transcript for the episode in question.  :)
Regarding Martin, I was amongst the first to be grateful that Martin would take such pains to take the time out to digitize many of these lost episodes or even some that have much better quality in sound to us eager fans who have clamoured for episodes we've only read about and have never heard yet.

To you Martin, I say keep up the good work, and keep 'em coming, you are a true gent.  I know a gent when I see one.  :)

You really are a nitwit! You should be grateful people are prepared
to share their hard effort and work with the group - and if you HAD
heard this episode (which I doubt) why haven't YOU already shared it
with us?

My thanks and appreciation go to Dean and Martin for their time and
effort and the enjoyment I'm sure I will derive from these 'new'
episodes.

for the love of all that's holy I've already apologized!!  and I was speaking about the episode when I had heard it... which was YEARS AGO!!  and because of that I had deleted it because I didn't like it at the time, it was a long time ago, but that was during a time when I initially found the Tommy Trinder episodes boring also.  i know better now, that's all that matters.
