The length of the play-out can be significant: in the original version I have, the playout [the bit after Nick's last word] is 18 seconds.
In the WS version, the playout is 33 seconds.

I haven't checked the rest of the differences between the 2 eps though.
But the quality of the recordings seems much the same, so I might also make the new WS copy my new "official" version  :-)

The World Service edition of #429 is longer.

As Nicholas introduces the first round, he tells Wendy "Take it any way you wish and talk on it for 60 seconds if you can...".  This line of dialogue is missing in the copy I already have.

I assume there are other edits.  In this case, I'm taking the World Service version.  (It's longer by over a minute).

The important words here are "my collection". Everyone on this board has a collection - but I'd bet money that no two collections are the same. So what is an upgrade of episode #ABC for me may not be an upgrade for you. Conversely, an upgrade of episode #DEF for you may not be an upgrade for me. For me, the preliminary results of the first 26 episodes are:

#390 [Have BBC CD version]
#393 [Have BBC CD version]
#395 [Have BBC CD version]
#397 [POSSIBE UPGRADE]
#398 [My 32/22/m sounds better]
#424 [Have BBC7 128/44/s]
#425 [Have 160/44/s - sounds better]
#426 [My 32/22/m sounds pretty much the same]
#427 [Have ABC 2009 capture - same length and sounds better]
#428 [Have 160/44/s - sounds better]
#429 [POSSIBLY LONGER]
#430 [Have BBC7 128/44/s]
#431 [Have R4X 128/44/s]
#432 [My 32/22/m sounds pretty much the same]
#433 [Have 128/44/s - sounds better]
#435 [Have 160/44/s - sounds better]
#437 [Have 64/44/m - sounds better]
#439 [My 32/22/m sounds pretty much the same]
#440 [Have 128/44/s - sounds better]
#441 [Have BBC7 128/44/s]
#442 [POSSIBLE UPGRADE]
#444 [Have ABC 2009 capture - same length and sounds better]
#446 [Have BBC7 128/44/s]
#448 [POSSIBLY LONGER]
