Topic: Small Nitpik on this series

Is it me or has there been at least a couple of times when someone buzzed just before the whisle blew and Nicholas choses to ignore it?
It happened this week( strangers on a train round)-the buzzer goes off/whisle blows and Nicholas can be heard to say" wait..." but then continues as if nothing happened ( edit??)

I have a feeling I could be 'stirring the pot" with this but I will post this anyways just for fun ( insert manic laughter here)

Actually I've heard Nic do this on many occasions in shows from more recent years. I attributed it to simply letting those last second forgone buzzes to him wanting to keep the flow of the show going at a bit faster pace than it otherwise would.

Yes it's practically become the rule over the recent years - and a decision I very much agree with. Those last second-interruptions were usually just annoying anyway, the show flows much better without them.

It also happens in Episode 1 of the current series during the topic "Power Struggles". This is one of the clips that you can watch on the BBC website. I'm guessing it's Paul who buzzes but it's totally ignored.

I think any buzz during the last two seconds should be ignored as they're usually unjustified and silly challenges that just slow down the game.

For better or worse, a post 59 second challenge (which succeeded I think) was made in the this week's episode when the subject was "altruism".

In keeping with the rest of this series, this episode was very good. It was remarkable to note that Nicholas avoided the temptation of showing off his french language skills when the subject was "french bread". It's not very happen that Nick doesn't take such an opportunity when it presents itself.
