Check the entry for Ian Messiter on the Just a Minute website that is managed by our 'heroic leader' Dean.
It says he appeared four times, full details can be found at...

http://just-a-minute.info/who7.html > Ian Messiter

"JAM Appearances: Four including one as chairman on radio in 1977, one as a panellist on radio in 1982, one as a guest speaker in one round in 1977, and one on the Silver Minutes compilation special."

Other shows?

Actually, there is a much better list of programmes that he has been involved with at The IMDB - Internet Movie Database (it now does more than just Movies)...

As ever, Google is your friend - even if you spell his name incorrectly as it happens.

Subject: [just-a-minute] Ian Mesiter questions

Hi all,

I just found and joined this group, thanks to a member here.  JAM is one of
my favorite BBC shows.  I also like Many a Slip and have great respect for
Ian Mesiter.  Biographical information about him is lacking except the very
basic details.

I have a few questions.  Did Ian Mesiter speak on any JAM shows other than
1977-01-12 and 1977-04-27?  For those who haven't heard those shows, I
highly recommend them, especially the first.  There were some early shows in
which Nicholas Parsons wasn't the chairman, but 1977-01-12 was the only show
in which Ian Mesiter was, for that one episode only.  I can sometimes hear
him saying something in the background on some shows, but he doesn't
actually say much.

What other radio shows did Ian Mesiter create besides JAM and Many a Slip?
I've done some research and apparently he created other panel shows, but I
haven't found any definitive list.  He also apparently created a comedy, but
I can't find it anywhere.

Finally, do any of you have a complete set of Many a Slip out there?  I am
missing about half and what I have is mostly ABC rebroadcasts.  For some
reason, some of the ABC shows run 25 minutes with music fill, so I'm sure
they're cutting some part of the shows, but I don't know what.  Also, at
least the final 1979 series was done in stereo.  I like it almost as much as
JAM.  On an unrelated note, I'm looking for Quote, Unquote as well.

Thanks for any help and other interesting information this group can offer.
