Hi All,

I just went to my SendSpace account to find all of the weekly shows that I
had uploaded had gone. I had expected it after recent happenings.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am taking this sign as a queue for
me to bow out and let others upload the shows.

I'll still be around lurking in the background.

Sorry to hear that Paul-
But Thanks though for all those uploads they were appreciated.
I have a streaming audio program so I can do my own- just will have to learn more about using it and Remember to Record things- time for the Post it Notes on the computer screen again :)

Unless you have a paid-for account most, if most all, online storage sites will remove files periodically once they are not downloaded for a time. This is the main reason for dead links in the JAM Group links section.

The best site to avoid this is Mediafire - they seem to have the longest period before deletion happens.

Mediafire and other sites seem to check filenames and file signatures (patterns in the file data) to detect copyright infringement. I have found if the files are uploaded as a ZIP archive they don't get identified.

I guess that loophole will be eventually closed and they will open ZIP archives and check the names and signatures. Of course this can be negated by applying a password to the archive.

Hi Don,

The files in question were on my paid for SendSpace account and were all taken down due to Violation of Terms doo dats. I am surprised I didn't lose the account. I had taken your advice and started Zipping the shows up for the past few series and it seemed to be working, Surprisingly the main thing I had been working on was on MF and it's still up there.. I think you know what I am talking about. Mind you they were Passworded and zipped within an inch of their little binary lives.

A little break does us all good now and again.. who knows what will happen in a few months.
