Regarding the problems with disappearing uploads etc

In regards to all these problems with disappearing files etc on
fileshare services:

There are ways to avoid this. The cloud drive "Mega" is one solution -
this is the famous net-vigilante mr Dotcoms cloud service. He's not one
for taking down copyrighted material, to put it that way. Accounts are
free up to 5gb.

Plus, his service is pretty darn good from a technical point of view.

You can then share direct links to your shared files, and it works
pretty much like the more legal services Mediafire, Sendspace & co. Only
without their lawyers monitoring your activities, and hosted by a
company that's not that eager to follow instructions from others.

As a very secondary solution I also want to make it known that I am
sitting on a rather decent server park on a privately owned bandwidth
connection, so there are nothing keeping us from creating services that
enables us to share files via those machines. However the technology
would be quite mundane compared to the professional services offered by
Mega & co, so I am not sure if that is an optimal way of solving this
challenge. But the option is there.

Either way, it's unfortunate we use Yahoo as mailinglist service cause
it's so wide open. It would have been sweet if we transferred the entire
subscription list over to another, closed mailing list service.
