Topic: 471 - Sauce - Quick comparison

The version I have in my collection is 6.66mb, 32kbit/s and has an annoying hum in the background.  If you have something better, let me know.

The only content change I found was this.

Original:

NM: What makes me blush is the fact that I am frequently mistaken for Will Carling. The former captain of the English rugby team. It is embarrassing when I go to the Chelsea Harbour Club and there is Princess Diana trying...

BUZZ

World Service Edit:

NM: What makes me blush is the fact that I am frequently mistaken for Will Carling. The former captain of the English rugby team. It is embarrassing trying...

BUZZ

I'd guess this change was made after Princess Diana's death.  I'm not going to go to the effort of editing and re-encoding to restore this inconsequential bit of content.  Due to the better quality, I reckon the WS edit wins in this case.

James - My #471 is a 64/22/JS encode (although I'm not sure if it's a genuine stereo source or just two-track mono). I'm uploading it to http://www.sendspace.com/folder/mwcec2 so you can make a comparison with your encodes.

Thanks!  It may be tomorrow before I grab it.  I was out of town earlier today.

Hmm - the quality is a little improved, but that file sounds a little faster to me, with everyone pitch-shifted upwards an octave;

The run-time of 27:11 supports that, with the World Service edit coming in at 28:51 and the original at 29:08.

I think I'm going to stick with the WS edit, at least for my own collection, but thank you for sharing -- I appreciate all these alternate versions as it helps ensure we end up with the best copy possible.

Seriously, thanks for all your help with this.  It's starting to feel less like a Herculean task.
