Thank you James!

Hello all,

I'm in the home stretch here with not too many more episodes to compare.

The copy of 509 in my collection sounds pretty muddy.  It's a 32kbit/s 22500khz file.  The World Service version sounds much better.

I performed a comparison and there are two very very minor edits in the round on the Millennium Bug.  It may not have been worth me editing this back together at all; At the same time, it's probably because these cuts were so small and therefore this was so easy to do that I went ahead and made a new version.  It's in the usual place.

The boring details

I've copied and pasted from Dean's site and bolded the bits that had been edited and are now restored.

Edit 1:
KHH: I am sick to death of the millennium bug! Everyone's a bugger these days! They come up to one at parties and say "what are you doing for the millennium?" I couldn't care a jot. Just so long as I don't have to watch Peter Mandelson... peel back the covers of his glistening Dome...

Edit 2:
SF: I had a cold last week and that was my 2000th illness, it was my millennium bug. But of course, a lot of people are referring to the computer that is going to blow up. The computer in the sky, the one that's going to run...

The first is clearly an edit for language.  Buggery is still illegal in some corners of the world, too, of course.  It makes sense the BBC would edit this for international broadcast.

The second appears arbitrary, but if this was broadcast later than September 11, 2001, then it would make some sense that the phrase "is going to blow up" would be a sensitive one.
