Hello everyone!

I'm going to ask again if some kind soul could (and would) re-up the
television documentary. The links are dead, and there have been a
couple of requests over the past few months, but no response. I hope
it's not lost to us forever!

thanks for checking----and thanks for sharing all the radio shows.

There has been a response, it's been discussed before. This is the guts
of it.

Since the group started posting at the file sharer, Mediafire, they
started an upload limit, 100MB, which is less than the video file for
that programme which is 520MB. Emile was trying to create a smaller
file, but it was losing the quality needed to make it worthwhile to do.

Not much help I know, but (I think) that is the answer....

As we approach 1000 messages it's obviously not practical to expect
people to read through all the previous messages but I do point out the
website for the group does have a search facility on the messages.

Hi,
Just wondering - because I have been desperate to see the documentary
also - what is the feasibility of using other file sharing website -
such as
http://www.filewind.com which allows a 500 MB limit etc. I realize
that it is still below the 520MB mark, but might it be possible to
slightly reduce or split the files? Also there is
http://www.sendthisfile.com/index.jsp which I think has a 2Gb limit
(if I have read it correctly!)

There is a really good article on
http://www.masternewmedia.org/news/2005/02/10/how_to_send_large_files.htm
about sending large files.

Alternatively what about splitting the files with rar - and posting
the segments into mediafire individually.

You all are obviously much more computer savvy than I am - I just did
some searching on the internet, and found some possible solutions. I
have also searched this group, but cannot find these ideas discussed,
and therefore put my two cents worth - because I want to see the
documentary!!! Apologies if I am posting obvious and flawed ideas!

I'm so sorry, Dean and all. I did search the archives---i didn't
phrase my question correctly. What I meant to ask is exactly what
Cymro posed a bit later: what about using another site? (You'd never
know I'm a journalist, would you?)

I do understand the problems with mediafire, which I why I've stopped
using them for sharing video. I'm use megaspace, or gigasize.

Gigasize is usually up and running, and everyone who signs up is able
to access files of a gig or larger, free. And those who pay for a
premium membership find the files they upload remain active as long as
their paid membership continues. Mega only allows premium members to
dl files above 500mb.

I am such a member, and would be happy to take responsibility for
keeping the file "alive" if someone wants to share it with me.

The same goes for any audio files....I'll be glad to put them on
either of those sites as they won't expire thanks to the premium
membership option. BTW, those memberships are a bargain if you find
yourself dealing with larger files, or ones that don't get a constant
stream of dls.

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes with that suggestion---it does offer
an alternative.
