Topic: New yahoo group format

Message 1 / 15

Is anyone else getting this new format?

I just figured out how to read posts after several confusing minutes.

PS. Dean can you change that photo at the top? it's rather odd for this group

I'm on UK Yahoo and it looks the same as it's always looked here.
Now I said that, I'm now just waiting for the new format to be rolled out here in the UK...

For those not seeing the New format

we are not Seeing the threads  as before but we have to click on "Conversions"

and the Header Photo is of a  Bright Red & Yellow Chinese (?)  Mask- like a Dragon

Now it's not a bad photo but not quite what one might expect when coming to this Group- especially for a New Comer- it's not a Life or Death Issue I know but I wish Yahoo Groups had warned of these changes for Members

Ok my Whine is over :)  Carry On

Not a fan of the new format, either. On my home PC I'm having problems opening the conversations, but I'm able to do so with my laptop. A Firefox setting or version variation I'm assuming I will have to track down and correct.

The header photo is the same for most of my other "yahoo groups" so it isn't' random

I can just image Peter Jones buzzing me for "Winching" On about it :)

I’ve changed the cover photo that a couple of people have complained about. As you will see I have put a recent photo of a panel there instead. I tried the classic caricature but it didn’t quite fit. If anyone has  a better pic, I am happy to experiment with it.

Hi - that is much better - though I must say I don't come to the group that often - mainly use the email interaction. Can't say the format bothers me much - looks cleaner

Thank you Dean - much better- that Dragon was annoying me :)

I will get the hang of the new format- at least yahoo has not given up on Message boards- yet.

Here on UK Yahoo Groups the layout is exactly the same as it's always been (as I said before) but the new picture has now been inserted at the top of the Home page.
I like the picture Dean, never saw the dragon.

Maybe I didn't get the new layout as I'm on 'BT Yahoo' rather than vanilla Yahoo.
Rumour has it that BT is pulling out of Yahoo due to the rubbish email service we're getting.
Not sure what will happen to my Yahoo account (and therefore my Groups) if that happens.

I've made a folder in the Photos section called Yahoo Group page headers for anyone who wants to contribute pictures.
