I refer to the Christmas 2012 episode, S06 E01 broadcast 24 December 2012 (the longer version of The News Quiz S79 E01 broadcast 21 December 2012).  I wonder which show you were thinking of?  There was an end-of-year compilation version of The News Quiz Extra broadcast 31 December 2012 and there was a special episode  of The News Quiz Extra, involving The Now Show, broadcast on 7 January 2013; could it be one of them?

I know Jack Dee on "I'm Sorry, I Haven't A Clue" does the occasional send-up of Nicholas and there was a JAM sketch in the News Quiz pantomime: does anyone know of any other JAM spoofery?
