BethAnne, if you check the most recent email you received from the BBC you'll see a link near the top that says "UPDATE YOUR PREFERENCES". I just clicked on it to see what I'm subscribed to. One of the options is "Shows, tours and events in my area" which I have checked although they don't seem to have a box for events outside of my area so maybe that's why you don't receive JAM recording alerts.

The main problem is that the free tickets they issue do not guarantee admission - for popular shows they turn away a lot of people - it's happened to me twice - so I don't think they want people traveling too far.

You should have received notification last year when JAM was at the Millenium Forum in NI - the only other recording I'm aware of that was local to you was when they visited Queen's University in 1998.
