I love Sheila Hancock. She has grown to be my favorite panelist on the show over the years. I think she is second only to Nicholas for actual time span on the show, dating back to the first series. One of the remarkable things about her is that she has changed so little since the early days--her sound and personality, and approach to the game, are extremely consistent. What is it that makes her so special? One, she is good at the game, competitive but never at the expense of the entertainment--in other words, gracious with other players. She is spirited but just as happy laughing along with a good turn by another player. She has charm galore and is easy to identify with, in spite of her stature in show business. Above all, I think it's her friendliness that makes her stand out the most--friendliness combined with intelligence, talent, unselfishness, and a balanced approach to the game. I salute Sheila--a great JAM panelist!

I am in full agreement, and I am so glad she finds time to appear nowadays.

As a kid in the late 60s 70s it was Sheila's voice, well with Kenneth and Nicholas, that imprinted itself most on me, via the radio played at tea time.

I was listening something on Radio 4 this morning about a Joe Orton play in which Sheila starred and they ran excerpts from the ITV playhouse version from that time.
